Whether you’ve just discovered Talking Point Recordable Buttons, or they’ve been a staple in your classroom for years, watch this helpful video, where Mr. P provides valuable tips for using the buttons in behaviour management and for creating fun, interactive displays.
What are Talking Point Recordable Buttons?
Talking Point Recordable Buttons are an incredibly versatile and powerful tool for the classroom. Each battery-powered button records ten seconds of high-quality sound, making them great for a multitude of uses. They can enhance language and oracy, make displays interactive, target poor behaviour and much more. Available in packs of 6, 30 and 48, all buttons have replaceable batteries making them a good choice for years of classroom use.
How can they help manage behaviour?
Mr. P recommends using the buttons for effective behaviour management and to encourage positive behaviour. Simply record different sounds so you don’t have to repeatedly use your voice. For example, instead of asking children to be quiet over and over again, why not record a Taylor Swift sound bite instead?! Mix up the sounds to keep your children’s attention on track and interrupt disruptive behaviour.
They’re also an excellent tool for aiding children in completing tasks. Simply record the instructions, and children can press to listen back when they’re ready to start or need a little reminder. And when they’ve finished, they can press and play a different sound for positive reinforcement and further motivation.
How can they enhance classroom displays?
Many teachers also use these clever buttons to enhance and create a positive learning environment. Mr. P recommends adding them to classroom displays to make them fun and interactive. Children simply record themselves talking about their work and what the display shows, ready for peers or visitors to press and listen back to!
The sound buttons are also perfect for creating a more inclusive classroom. Position anywhere in your classroom for audio support for children with different learning styles or abilities. Discover our full range of speaking & listening resources to support SEN children.
