Silicone Number Frames come in two sizes – desktop and giant and both sets use the same shapes and colour coding so there is a matched link between them. They can be used with children from 3 years of age and being made from silicone they are strong, waterproof and can be wiped clean after use. They provide a visual image of the numbers from 1 to 10 so that children can begin to understand number value. They are excellent too for reinforcing counting, number relationships and mathematical operations. Shapes are arranged so that the eye and brain can quickly decode/subitise the value on display. The visual aspect helps children to grasp a deeper understanding of number – and they will support the development of better mathematical fluency and early number problem-solving. They are ideal for kinaesthetic learners either and in groups children can discuss their thoughts and findings with others. They provide progression through number value, sequencing, number patterns and number bonds. The larger set has been designed for demonstrations by the teacher, for display, for use outside, in messy play or even as part of a PE Lesson.
