Therapeutic Wellbeing Toolbox

Overview

• Portable and equipped with a variety of fidgets, this toolbox facilitates therapeutic support across multiple rooms and settings.

• Written by Dr Tina Rae, child psychologist who has over 30 years' experience specialising in the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. The toolbox contains resources to support six key areas of: Building Confidence and Self Esteem, Effective Thinking (CBT), Mindfulness, Positive Psychology Tools, Anxiety Management, and Anger and Stress Management. Each section has a collection of 30 activities which help children to develop a range of strategies within this area. Within the introductory booklet, there is a screening tool that will help practitioners to identify which of the six aspects to begin with when working with a child. Accompanying the toolkit there is a CPD video with over 2 hours of training from Dr Tina Rae, contained on a USB drive which helps practitioners understand the underpinning theory and she provides her advice around running the sessions.

• The Therapeutic Toolbox has been developed so that it can be used and delivered by all teachers, TA’s and SENCO’s without the need for specialist training from a therapist. Note: Please remember that this is not a therapeutic intervention as delivered by a specialist provider and certainly does not replace the role of the specialist therapeutic professional.

• Designed by Dr Tina Rae, a child psychologist with three decades of experience, the Therapeutic Wellbeing Toolbox targets the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children. It focuses on key developmental areas including Confidence, Effective Thinking through CBT, Mindfulness, Positive Psychology, Anxiety Management, and Anger and Stress Management. Each area is supported by 30 activities to nurture emotional growth.

• The toolbox includes a screening tool to help practitioners pinpoint the starting point for intervention, making it a valuable tool for teachers, TAs, and SENCOs, even without specialist training. Over two hours of CPD video content from Dr Tina Rae offers further support, encapsulating theory and practical session guidance.

• The toolbox's adaptability for individual or group use is complemented by an assortment of fidgets, enhancing its utility as a dynamic resource for building healthier emotional landscapes for children.
