"Although this is a very simple resource, it is very effective and versatile. With a Year 2 class I used it to practise times tables, labelling the stick with post-its and removing them one by one until the children could confidently chant the times tables in and out of order by pointing to the increments. It is coloured brightly and clearly so all the children can see it from the back of the class. It could also be used for missing number sequences, measuring, estimating, fractions and simple counting games.
