Simone supports personal, social and emotional development in the EYFS through role play. Practitioners can use her for perspective-taking activities, helping children explore feelings, relationships and imagined situations from different viewpoints while developing empathy.
In Communication and Language, children can take on roles, share ideas and build spoken interaction. As imaginative play dolls, Simone supports communication skills role play and shared storytelling, helping children create narratives and express ideas.
In Expressive Arts and Design in the EYFS, children can develop complex stories, use props when role-playing characters and engage in pretend play. A side pocket allows scented products to provide a sensory experience. Small parts require supervision; wash separately at a maximum of 30°C.

Simone has a pocket in the side of her body for adding scented products for a sensory experience. Small parts should be used under supervision only.

For hygiene reasons and to avoid discolouration please note it is best to wash the dolls separately. To avoid any damage, wash the dolls at a maximum of 30°C using the hand wash setting on the machine or alternatively wash the dolls by hand. For extra protection and disinfection, an antibacterial laundry cleanser may be used together with a mild detergent for both machine washing and hand washing. Place the empathy doll in a netted laundry bag, and protect the hair in particular with a stocking. Wash coloured garments separately and according to the washing instructions on the respective labels. The Joyk empathy dolls clothes should be washed at a maximum of 30°C and separately to other garments. Minor stains and the build up of dirt can be removed by giving a sponge bath with an anti-bacterial laundry cleanser and using warm water and a sponge. Roll the washed doll in a towel to absorb excess water. If necessary, gently shake the doll's body, especially the hair, to bring the doll's hair and body back to shape and in place. Now the doll can be laid out to dry on a dry towel or hung carefully on the clothesline by both feet.
