Essential Gardening Equipment 45pk
Bumper collection of hard-wearing tools for use by school gardening clubs.
Includes durable hand trowels and forks, watering cans, kneeling pads and gardening gloves. Light weight, the tools are suitable for use by children of all ages.
The hand trowels and forks are made from a tough plastic and are in a chunky design. They are especially useful for working in small spaces where larger tools may be impractical. Hand forks can be used for removing weeds from the soil and for breaking up and loosening soil to improve drainage and aeration. With their pointed blades, hand trowels are useful for digging small holes in order to plant bulbs, or for digging up and transplanting small plants without damaging their roots.
The child-sized kneelers add comfort and practicality to gardening tasks. The soft pads with a triple layer of foam provide a cushioned surface and protect children’s knees. They also help to keep clothes clean which is particularly useful when working with damp or muddy soil. Light-weight and easy to carry, they feature a hang up handle, so can be easily stored away. Rectangular in shape and 40x20cm in size, they can also be used as a comfortable seat for everyday outdoor learning sessions.
Gardening gloves are an essential resource for protecting and keeping children’s hands safe and clean. Made from a cotton material, they feature a textured palm for a non-slip grip, which is especially useful when handling wet items. Gloves protect hands from harmful bacteria that may be in the soil as well as from scratches that may be caused by prickly plants. They keep hands clean as well as warm during lower temperatures.
The watering cans are both light-weight and small in size, making them ideal for use by children. As they hold 1.5 litres of water, children should easily manage to fill them up themselves and transport them. The watering cans feature a long narrow spout for precision watering and a curved handle which is easy to grip. Made from plastic, the watering cans measure 33 x 20 cm in size.
