TTS Small World Bio Figures Collection

A collection of open-ended figures made from bio-plastic.

Overview

  • These pastel figures offer children opportunities to extend their creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

  • Using these figures encourages children in their imaginative thinking and small world exploration. Children will begin to assign certain roles to figures, giving them a persona and narratives in their play. As children create they can work on problem-solving skills as they adapt to new play scenarios, both in independent and collaborative play. Children can use these figures to support in their early mathematical learning. These figures come in four colours and two sizes, large and small, to support in comparing sizes, sorting, counting and exploring spatial awareness. Through small world exploration children can develop their communication and language skills as they create stories and early narratives. This can help to extend vocabulary and expressive language. These charming figures can be used in messy play and can be taken outdoors (please do not leave outside) to extend learning opportunities.

  • The small and large size enables children to work on their physical development with ease, stretching out their hand muscles and working on arm movements. This will all support their ability to hold mark making equipment as their hand muscles have had plenty of opportunities to grow and develop.

  • Enhancing early years education, these bio figures boost storytelling and scenario creation, encouraging social and emotional development. Practitioners will find them ideal for expressive arts, encouraging children to invent narratives.
