A pretend shop counter to help encourage children with creation of narratives, role play, conversation, writing practice and early maths through interactive supermarket play.
This pretend shop resource gives children a familiar setting for narratives, role play and conversation. The checkout with card reader, goods separator and pretend conveyor belt support recognisable shopping scenarios. A small refrigerator and shelf compartments provide spaces to display and organise food, drinks and shopping goods.
It supports EYFS communication and language aims through shared shopping scenarios. Children can take different roles, practise turn taking, respond to others and extend their own narratives. Practitioners can use the chalkboard for vocabulary development activities, including writing prices or deals during pretend shop play.
The resource also supports EYFS expressive arts and design aims as children use props and materials to role play characters in narratives and stories. The 53cm work surface defines the play area. The white unit measures H70.5 x W101 x D86.5cm, weighs 28.19kg and requires practitioner assembly.
