Overview

• These activity cards enhance history lessons by making them more interactive and enjoyable. Teachers will benefit from the cards' ability to support the Key Stage 1 curriculum, helping children understand changes within living memory and their impacts on national life. By focusing on significant individuals and comparing life in different periods, the cards make curriculum alignment easier for teachers.

• Each double-sided card features a source for further learning and an engaging activity. Themes include historical artefacts, buildings, paintings, and writing. Note that some activities may require sourcing a reference artefact or painting beforehand.

• Significant national or global events beyond living memory, such as the Great Fire of London or the first aeroplane flight, are also covered, commemorating these events through festivals or anniversaries.
