Children at this level will be reading silently most of the time and adjusting their speed of reading to suit material. They will use their reading experiences to predict content and layout and recognise text-type. Children will re-read dialogue, unfamiliar language and more complex sentences to make different interpretations.
They will also sustain interest in longer texts, being able to return to them easily after breaks. In addition to this, they will be able to investigate and identify the > (Suitable substitutions will be made if any title is unavailable.)
