From it's origin in 1991, in England, Stomp has been winning audiences around the world. The entire show is built around the idea of 'found percussion' - things from everyday life that can be used in a percussive way to express rhythm.
Children learn when they are 'busking' that it's important to listen to each other, avoid overpowering each others' playing, keep in time with each other, keep looking at each other ( all very important social skills) and to generally feel the groove!
Take your class outdoors and let everyone sing, dance and express themselves. Let children take turns in playing on the frame and let the others 'invent' their own percussion instruments - this could be anything from a pair of spoons from the kitchen to the sweeping brush from the corner of the room. You could even use your chair seats as drums!
The three adjustable sides on our sturdy metal frame include two bin lid 'cymbals', a coal scuttle 'drum' , chime bars, bicycle bell, horn and washboard, and six robust, metal beaters. See how many different ways you can find to play each 'instrument'.
It comes flat-packed in three sections for easy storage and fits together simply with locking plastic clips.
Made from powder coated chunky mild steel, it's tough enough to last for years - and whilst we've designed it to be played outdoors, we do recommend that you don't leave it out in bad weather or overnight.
Dimensions: H106-124cm (adjustable) x W85cm x D80cm.
