The ideal globe for KS2/3. Work individually or in groups to discover the world with cartography suitable for more advanced students. It has up-to-date political mapping with exceptional detail, featuring all the world's major cities and is mounted on the popular clear view stand, allowing the student to remove the globe for closer inspection. 23cm diameter.
Why not pass the globe around the class in a random pattern with each pupil naming and locating a city or country working their way through the alphabet, so child one could say Aberdeen, they would then pass it on and the next child could say Beijiing and so on.
Globes give a good, visual indication of the earth's surface, the shape of the continents, and their relative positions, they give a true representation; whatever position they are viewed from. The shape and size of the various continents is not distorted through trying to represent a spherical surface on a flat piece of paper.
