A set of hand crafted Stone Age sickles.

  • The use of the sickle was critical to the agricultural revolution with its unique shape, making harvesting crops more efficient. A great artefact to use when discussing late Neolithic hunter-gatherers and early farmers.

  • A fantastic opportunity for artefact handling, encouraging discussion and open questioning. Only to be used under adult supervision. Contains a 3, 5 and 8 inch sickle. Colours may vary.

  • These stone age artefacts are made from real stone and were made by skilled craftsmen using the ancient art known as "flint knapping". This is done by knocking two pieces of stone together and the smaller pieces are then further reduced and refined to make the sickle.
