Alice Sharp - Prepare to Get Messy! We are Artists! Young children who are given a range of materials can be fascinated by their ability to create beautiful, interesting images, designs, textures, movements and sounds. They are drawn to creative materials which stimulate all of their senses. It is important to allow our children to learn how to manipulate and use a wide range of materials. This workshop session will be very hands on. Prepare to get messy, dirty and gooey too!!
Marie Richardson - Exploring Language and Communication in Early Years. The Power of the Nursery Rhyme. A practical workshop that will support early years practitioners to develop their knowledge and understanding of communication and language. Participants will use case studies and learn how to identify children who are behind with communication and language skills. They will learn how to carry out key activities to support the development of listening and attention skills, to help children learn new words and to support the development of narrative skills. The workshop will include hands-on activities which practitioners can take back to their workplace and put into practice with their children. Make sure you bring your singing voices!
Anne Conroy - Taking the Trauma out of Transition – Supporting Effective Transition from Reception to Year 1 Transition from reception into Year 1 can often be challenging for staff, children and parents, this workshop will identify key factors for reception practitioners to consider to enable children to be prepared to take on new experiences whilst ensuring they continue to make progress in their learning.
