TTS Early Years Masterclass (Midlands)

Join us for our brand new training day in Winstanley House, Leicester on Tuesday 9th July, with our brilliant speakers Alice Sharp and Pete Moorhouse. For more information, please contact Sarah skeightley@tts-group.co.uk.

The day will consist of two high quality, keynote sessions and three engaging afternoon workshops. If you’ve been to a TTS event before, you’ll know you will be well looked after, be given great, practical insights and immersed in all things early years.

Our aim is to provide high quality training, so you return to your setting having had a rewarding and stimulating training day, with added TTS sparkle! You’ll also leave filled to the brim with cake - what could be better?

Creativity in Practice by Pete Moorhouse: This keynote presentation will offer a clear understanding of what we mean by creativity, looking at how we define creativity and exploring the numerous elements that contribute to nurturing children's creativity. We will think about the adult role, looking at ways in which we can observe and extend creative and critical thinking skills and I will provide examples of resources and provocations that are particularly good for developing these thinking skills - such as loose parts, children's photography and woodwork. I will highlight the importance of these thinking skills for providing a solid foundation for lifelong learning and also for children's well-being. I will also emphasise the benefits of monitoring progression in children’s creative development particularly in relation to disadvantaged children and offer ways in which this can be undertaken through observation.
