Lightweight, this beginner’s garden fork has been designed for young gardeners in KS1 and lower KS2. It has a comfortable contoured handle and a durable metal head.

• A useful tool for loosening, lifting and turning over soil.

• As well as providing children with an enjoyable hands-on learning experience, garden forks can be used for a variety of tasks in the school garden. They can be used for breaking up soil to improve aeration and drainage, as well as for lifting and moving plants and removing weeds. They are also well suited for use in tight spaces.

• To teach a child how to use a garden fork safely, demonstrate how they should hold it properly, with the forks pointed towards the ground, but always away from their feet.
