Uses drama to help develop a range of things such as social skills, playfulness and pretence, verbal and non-verbal communication and self-esteem.
It is divided into two parts: simple individual focused activities (Units 1-2) for students in a special educational environment who are at an early stage of engagement; and Group-orientated activities (Units 3-9) for use in other school settings where mixed groups of children, with and without autism, work together to develop personal and social skills. Each unit focuses on one skill at a time. Included in the book are case studies, photocopiable resources and step-by-step teacher guides on how to deliver the drama programme.
