Handling Data

The final strand brings with it, an abundance of exciting challenges and new learning opportunities. Introducing children to the world of lists, tables, charts and diagrams and expanding their mathematical language to include new worlds such as, 'chance', 'range', 'median' and 'mean'.
Children will learn how to identify which data to collect and how they will use and interpret their data, using statistics, comparisons, trends and exploring hypothesis using surveys and experiments.
Developing not only children's reporting skills but also their presenting skills, both on paper and in front of the class, this strand brings many stimulating opportunities to the classroom!
