Winner of a Practical Pre-School Bronze Award 2011 (Creative Play Category)
Wheelie Painters are a set of 4 painters which children can trundle through paint or puddles. Each painter has a plastic wheel with a different pattern used to construct various designs on a multitude of surfaces, from the playground to paper. Children will love twisting and turning their painter to make fun and unique prints, so it's not only young minds that are inspired, its keeping growing bodies active at the same time!
Perfect as an individual pastime or fun group activity, Wheelie Painters can be used indoors or out and have already received our stamp of approval as an 'engaging boys' product. They can weave pathways around the setting, twisting and turning as they go. Why not take the Wheelie Painters outside and trundle them through puddles of mud, just as you would a bike, and see the patterns they make on the dry parts of the playground.
As much fun indoors, try placing a roll of old wallpaper on the floor and dip the painter in paint to make a pattern, manoevering as you go, or create a large enclosed canvas by covering an area with paper surrounded with bricks and blocks. Children in their wellies can dip the Wheelie Painter in brightly coloured paints and create their very own piece of modern art. Wheelie Painters work brilliantly using different textures, like sand and Magic Snow, children will love experimenting and trying out new and unusual materials to see if a pattern can be made.
Wheelie Painters come as a set of 4.
For ages 3yrs+.

These were an instant hit with the children. It happened to be a very muddy day outside and straightaway the children experimented with the different marks the rollers made in the puddles and soft earth - this was without using them in paint! The rollers are instantly usable and robust. All ages of children enjoyed pushing them around - if children can walk, they can use the rollers. They gained a great deal from exploring the range of imprints left by the rollers. They can be used to enhance outdoor provision, giving children a fun filled opportunity to experiment with mark making in a physical activity.
"This set of Wheelie Painters is fantastic and our children have loved using them in paint, mud, puddles and in the snow. The Wheelie Painters are brightly coloured and this is also something the children have liked. The Wheelie Painters make clear patterns for the children to see and coming in a set of four mean that a group of children can have fun together, looking at the different patterns made by the different coloured Wheelie Painters. The children are fascinated as they watch the pattern emerging from under their Wheelie Painter, and also as they see their friends' patterns on paper or on the surface they are working in. We have used the Wheelie Painters to develop our children's creative opportunities outdoors. The Wheelie Painters have opened up 'big' art work opportunities using something completely different to create patterns and colour on giant pieces of paper. The Wheelie Painters are easily cleaned by the children after use."
