Wider Opportunities

Wider Opportunities gives children the chance to learn about music in curriculum time through playing a musical instrument. This is delivered to whole classes in Key Stage 2.

It is a national scheme, but tailored locally to meet the needs and ambitions of individual schools in order that every child experiences instrumental music making.

Evaluation and feedback regularly shows how Wider Opportunities projects are giving children benefits far beyond the obvious musical experiences and skills.

Here at TTS, we have a broad selection of instruments that are being used in many primary schools to help deliver Wider Opportunities. Look out for the Wider Opportunities logo to see what instruments MES recommends. We have put together many bundles to help you select your classroom set of instruments. Alternatively, if you have your own idea of a classroom set then let us know. We would be more than happy to put it together for you.

Remember, any instrument can be used to deliver Wider Opportunities. Here are some of the instruments we recommend.
