Ancient Egyptians usually went barefoot except for special occasions. The rich would wear leather sandals, whilst the poor would wear sandals made from woven papyrus or palm. Before letting your pupils know who wore these shoes in Ancient Egypt, why not use their historical enquiry skills to see if they can find the answer for themselves?
