all contained in a large drawstring bag
Here's a little more information about some of the contents: Lingzhi - This dried mushroom-like item is completely safe for children to handle and explore. From the Far East, it's very popular as a 'superfood' (think of it a little like a blueberry), used in a lot of Chinese herbal remedies. The ones we have here are dried, providing fascinating shapes for children to explore, but could also kick-start conversations on different cultures.
Buddha Nuts - The buddha nut is a large round nut with an open end. They are aromatic and often used in pot pourris, but we think they are great for exploring unusual shapes - let children imagine that they are treasure chests for Goblins or maybe Fairy seats.
Limes & Oranges - These two are popular for their sensory properties, and ours are no exception - they smell great. However, we also think you could use them to talk about healthy eating, or even as an introduction to pirates and sea faring topics (Limes were very popular with British sailors travelling through the Caribbean to prevent disease).
Having a wide selection of natural materials in your setting has never been so important. Let children's imaginations soar as they create magical pathways, find sparkling treasure or build landscapes for small world adventures.
As with all natural materials, it is important to note that while every care is taken to ensure our natural resources are superb quality and value, there may be sharp edges or small pieces.
Play should always be supervised, as these are not toys, and risk assessments should be done where appropriate. However you use these resources, we know you will have hours of simulating play and learning.
