Are you looking to challenge your KS3 computing class with something which will really get them engaged and involved with the lesson? If so then Initio could be the perfect tool for your classroom or after school club.
Initio is a Raspberry Pi controlled robot designed to maximise the potential of Raspberry Pi. Both Raspberry Pi Model B and B+ compatible, the Initio can be controlled using Scratch or Python. To add an extra challenge, the initio will need assembling (this can take up to an hour), an excellent activity for an after school club or a more able set of students to take part in.
With a wide range of inputs and outputs to program, the Initio is a great resource for project based work. Let the students design, plan and write their program and once they're confident it'll work, try it out on the Initio! Initio can be controlled and programmed wirelessly using Wi-Fi or programs can be downloaded onto Initio using the USB drive.
Individually program and monitor the various inputs and outputs (line follower, ultra-sonic sensor, motors)
Interact via Wifi or loading your program directly on to Initio via USB
Compatible with Scratch and Python programming languages
R PI Camera can be attached
Example programs provided to get you started
Enhance Computing lessons with real life application of programming
Write your program on screen and see Initio come to life
The initio comes with:
Assembled Pan/Tilt machanism
4GB Card with pre-installed software
What you will need in addition to the initio
