"Develop the black and white concept as part of permanent provision for babies. Choose objects and resources with bold contrasting patterns and a variety of textures, those which are safe to mouth and be handled by young children.
Black and white resources support focus and are known to stimulate and appeal to young babies, who spend much of their time on the floor. Arrange these resources to create a cosy play space on the floor in a way that will awaken a child's natural curiosity. We find our black and white areas offer an appealing space which draws in parents as well as children." The outer ring does not meet the other end properly therefore the velcro is overstretched and does not do up properly. the babies have already worked out how to undo it making it not such a good idea to use when the older babies of 18 months are in the room
